ABOUT CRISIS CARE SOLUTIONS

Years of chaplaincy, disaster response, ministry, and crisis intervention revealed a consistent need: caring people willing to enter difficult moments, but many were not equipped for the crisis they were stepping into. Crisis Care Solutions was created to help bridge that gap.

CRISIS CARE SOLUTIONS GREW OUT OF WORK.

Crisis Care Solutions did not begin with a business plan or a training calendar. It grew out of years spent showing up when people and communities were facing difficult moments. Through chaplaincy, pastoral ministry, and disaster response, Jason Libby repeatedly found himself alongside individuals, families, churches, and responders navigating crisis. Hurricanes and disasters brought visible destruction, but they also revealed needs that were not always as easy to see. Long after debris was cleared and response teams began to leave, people continued carrying the emotional and spiritual impact of what they had experienced.

As the Disaster Response Coordinator for Pen Florida Men's Ministries, Jason has helped support disaster response efforts across a region stretching from North Florida to the Florida Keys. The work has included helping churches navigate disaster response, supporting communities impacted by hurricanes, serving alongside responders, and providing chaplaincy and crisis care in difficult environments.

Again and again, the same reality became clear: the people most willing to help were not always prepared for the crisis conversations they were entering.

Pastors wanted to care for hurting families. Ministry leaders wanted to support their communities. Chaplains and responders wanted to help people experiencing overwhelming stress. Churches were willing to show up. Their compassion was real. But compassion alone did not always provide the practical skills needed to recognize crisis reactions, listen effectively, understand the limits of a helping role, or know what support might be appropriate.

Crisis Care Solutions grew out of that need. What began as crisis care and disaster response work developed into a focused effort to equip pastors, ministry leaders, chaplains, peer supporters, and community responders with practical crisis intervention skills.

Today, Crisis Care Solutions provides crisis intervention training, chaplaincy, disaster response support, and resilience education while developing initiatives such as Project 700 to help churches become better prepared before the next crisis comes.

OUR STORY

It Started by Showing Up

We did not go looking for a problem to solve. The work showed us where the gap was.

Psalm 46:1 has become more than a verse associated with our ministry. It reflects how we understand crisis care. God is present in trouble. That conviction shapes our willingness to enter difficult places, sit with hurting people, support those who serve, and help churches prepare to care for their communities.
Crisis Care Solutions is a faith-based organization rooted in the Christian conviction that people matter and that presence matters. We believe the Church has an important role in caring for individuals and communities impacted by crisis. We also believe willingness should be joined with preparation. Our faith motivates us to show up. Training helps prepare us to care wisely when we arrive.

OUR MINISTRY & FAMILY

The Libby Family

For Jason and Jennifer Libby, Crisis Care Solutions is part of a much larger story of ministry and missions. Jason and Jennifer have spent their lives serving the church and helping people. Their ministry journey has included pastoral ministry, church leadership and administration, chaplaincy, missions, and disaster response. Along the way, their children, Ethan and Ella, have grown up as part of a family whose ministry often means going where there is a need and finding a way to serve.

Today, Jason and Jennifer serve as Assemblies of God U.S. Missionaries through Chaplaincy Ministries with 461 Response. Their missionary work focuses on crisis care, chaplaincy, disaster response, and equipping churches and ministry leaders. Jason is also a Certified Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) trainer. He provides training to those that serve others so they are better equipped to respond in a crisis.

In November 2022, Jason traveled to the U.S. Virgin Islands with the Pen Florida Men’s Ministry Director, John Hensel, for a Men’s Conference at St. Thomas Assemblies of God. During that trip, they discussed the importance of utilizing church teams in ministry and as a tool of discipleship. Pastor Hensel shared that both he and Dr. Terry Raburn’s hope is that one day we would have someone in Pen Florida who could be the boots on the ground to make sure that our churches are restored as quickly as possible so they could focus on caring for their communities.

It was on that night, November 12, 2022, that Pen Florida Disaster Response began and Jason became the coordinator to helping support disaster response efforts. The Peninsular Florida region stretches more than 500 miles from North Florida, down to Miami and the Florida Keys as well as the Virgin Islands. That ministry has taken the Libby family into communities impacted by hurricanes and disasters and has created opportunities to walk alongside pastors, churches, responders, and families during difficult seasons. During their first missionary term, the direction of the ministry became increasingly clear. Years of disaster response and chaplaincy experience laid the groundwork for the formation of Crisis Care Solutions and the development of Project 700 which helps to answer a simple question:

What if churches were intentionally prepared before crisis arrived?

With approximately 350 churches across Peninsular Florida, the vision is to help identify and equip two trained people in every church. Two people in 350 churches creates the potential for 700 trained responders positioned throughout communities across the district. Crisis Care Solutions is a distinct nonprofit organization, but its story cannot be separated from the ministry journey that gave rise to it.

For the Libby family, the mission remains simple: show up, care well, and help others become better prepared to do the same.
